Glen Frost
Building Frost Law and Practicing Tax Controversy

Episode 7 of Cited Authorities is live. The guest is Glen Frost, founder and Managing Partner of Frost Law in Maryland.

Glen is an attorney, CPA, and Certified Financial Planner with an LL.M. in taxation. He built Frost Law from a solo practice into an 80-plus person team of attorneys, CPAs, enrolled agents, and Certified Fraud Examiners.

He started alone. Glen opened Frost Law as a solo practitioner. The firm grew significantly from there.

Glen built his tax career at the University of Baltimore School of Law. He arrived as a working CPA, co-founded the Business and Tax Law Association as a student, and earned both a JD and an LL.M. in taxation. Fred Brown, last episode's guest, was one of his professors there.

IRS workforce cuts affect clients. Audits and appeals do not pause when IRS staffing falls. The wait gets longer and strategy changes.

He closes with advice for the next generation of tax lawyers. A career in tax controversy can be built from Big Law, from an accounting firm, or from a tax boutique. Each path teaches a different part of the work, and the right starting point depends on what kind of practice you want to build.

“We’re dealing directly with the business owner. Often this is the most important issue they’re facing in their life.”

Glen Frost
